How do I book a campervan with Trekker Voyages?To book a campervan, simply visit our website, browse our fleet, and select the van that suits your needs. How old do I have to be to hire a campervan?To hire a campervan, you must be between 25 and 75 years old (during your hire dates) and hold a valid driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience. We can insure you if you are between 76 and 79 years old if you have not had any at fault claims in the last 5 years. We also require proof of identity and a security deposit, which is fully refundable upon safe return of the van. For full rental terms and conditions and eligibility, click here.

What is included with the campervan rental?Each campervan comes fully equipped with sleeping accommodations for up to 4 people, kitchen facilities, tea, coffee, sugar, cooking utensils, cleaning equipment & detergents, stovetop & electric kettle, luxurious bedding, shower toiletries and safety features like a first aid kit. We also provide a detailed guide on how to use all the features of the van. Please note: Towels are not provided. Is insurance included with the campervan rental?Yes, comprehensive insurance is included with every campervan rental. This covers you for accidents, theft, and damage to the vehicle (some damage exclusions apply). Please note that a standard excess applies, and optional excess reduction insurance is available for added peace of mind.

What does the insurance cover?Our insurance provides comprehensive coverage for your peace of mind while renting a campervan and the maximum you will pay is your excess*. The policy includes: Collision Damage: Covers the cost of repairs in case of an accident. Theft Protection: Protects against theft of the vehicle, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. Third-Party Liability: Covers damage to other vehicles, property, or individuals in the event of an accident. Breakdown Assistance: 24/7 roadside assistance across the UK and Europe in case of mechanical failure or breakdown. Windscreen and Tyre Cover: Provides coverage for damage to the windscreen or tyres if premium insurance is chosen. *Please note, the insurance does not cover personal belongings, loss of keys, or damage caused by negligence. What is the security deposit and my excess in the event of damage?We have 2 options available, standard and premium insurance. If standard insurance is selected, the security deposit and excess is £1,750. If premium insurance is selected, the security deposit and excess is £1,000. This is your excess in case of any damage* to the campervan. For bookings less than 7 days, the security deposit will be held on your card (the amount will not leave your account but will be authorised as a pending transaction on your card). For bookings longer than 7 days, we are unable to hold the funds on your card for the security deposit, therefore, a cleared payment in the form of a bank transfer will be required. *exclusions apply - See full rental terms and conditions here.

Are there any additional charges I should be aware of?Our pricing is transparent, with no hidden fees. However, additional charges may apply for extras such as child seats, late returns, damage, or excessive cleaning. All potential charges are clearly explained in our rental agreement.

Do I need to clean the campervan before returning it?Yes, the campervan must be returned clean inside, but don’t worry about the outside—we’ll handle that! 🚐✨ Want to save hours on your trip? Add our cleaning option when booking, and we’ll take care of the interior cleaning for you. Important: The waste tanks and cassette toilet must still be emptied before return. 🚽⚠️

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?If you need to cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations must be made in writing to info@trekkervoyages.com Free cancellation within the first 24 hours of booking. Any payments made will be refunded back to you within 7 days minus an administration fee of £15. Should you cancel your confirmed booking after 24 hours of booking up to 40 days before commencement of hire, you will forfeit the booking deposit or 30% of the booking total (whichever is higher). Should you cancel your confirmed booking 39 days to 15 days prior to commencement of hire, you will forfeit 60% of the booking total. Should you cancel your confirmed booking within 14 days prior to commencement of hire, or fail to turn up for commencement of hire, you will forfeit 100% of the total hire cost. This will also apply if, upon inspection of named drivers' licences, they are found to be invalid or do not comply with the information stated on the booking form. We recommend that the hirer takes out travel insurance.

Can I change my rental dates?Yes, you can change your rental dates. We understand that plans can change, so we allow date modifications subject to availability. A date change is only allowed once as long as it is not within 40 days of your original hire date. Please note: 1) You cannot cancel a booking where you wish to change your date or a date change has been processed. 2) Full payment will be required for the entire booking before the date change is processed. 3) You cannot reduce the number of days of hire when changing dates. 4) There will be no refund for any changes in prices, extras or insurance. For example, if changing dates from peak season to low season, no refund will be given for the change in price. A £99 administration fee will apply to process the change plus any change in hire costs, extras and insurance. If you need to adjust your booking, please contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your new dates.

What are the pick-up and drop-off procedures?Pick-up and drop-off are simple and convenient. On the day of your rental, you’ll collect your campervan from our designated location (The location will provided upon booking in your confirmation email). We’ll walk you through everything you need to know. When your trip is over, return the van to the same location, ensuring it's clean, fuelled up and the gas re-filled.

Do you offer discounts for long-term bookings?Yes, we do! We offer discounts of up to 25% for bookings over 20 days. Just get in touch with us for a special quote tailored to your trip!

Can I pick up the campervan outside your working hours?Yes, we can arrange for campervan pick-ups outside our standard working hours if needed. Please let us know in advance, and we'll do our best to accommodate your schedule. Early pick-ups or late returns may be subject to availability and an additional fee, so feel free to contact us to discuss your options!

Can I leave my car with you when picking up the campervan?Yes, you can leave your car with us while you're on your trip. As we are a small business that operates from home, you can leave your car on our drive. However, please note that parking is at your own risk, and we cannot accept any responsibility for your vehicle while it is parked. We recommend taking appropriate precautions, such as securing your vehicle and not leaving valuables inside.

How many ISOFIX points are there?There is 1 ISOFIX point available in the rear seats. An adapter for the front seat available. Please let us know if you require an adapter for the front passenger seat and we will ensure this is fitted before your trip! Ensure you switch off the front passenger airbag if using a child car seat in the front.

I don't know how to use a campervan, will you show me how to?Absolutely! If you're new to campervanning, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. When you pick up your campervan, we’ll give you a full walkthrough and demonstration of all the features. We’ll show you how to operate everything, from setting up the bed and using the kitchen to managing the water supply and electric systems. Plus, we’re always just a phone call/WhatsApp away if you need help during your trip!

Can I take the campervan to Europe?Yes! All our campervans are ready for European travel. They are equipped with everything you need for an extended trip, including insurance coverage and breakdown assistance for European countries. Please notify us in advance if you plan to travel outside the UK and select the Europe surcharge when booking.

What do I need for European travel?For European travel in one of our campervans, you’ll need a few important documents and safety items: VE103 Form: This is essential when traveling to Europe in a hired or leased vehicle. The VE103 is proof that you have permission to take the vehicle abroad. We will handle the application for you, but please allow at least 5 days to process the form before your trip. European Safety Kit: We’ve got you covered with a comprehensive European safety kit, which includes: High-visibility vests Warning triangle Headlamp beam deflectors Breathalyzers (required in some countries) A set of spare bulbs These items are mandatory in many European countries and will be included in your campervan when traveling abroad. Is the Trekker campervan suitable for winter travel?Yes, our campervans are well-insulated and equipped with heating systems to keep you warm during winter. The heating can be operated with gas when off-grid! It can also be operated using electricity when plugged in at campsites. The fresh water and waste tanks are also heated. Ensure you pack appropriate clothing and be aware of road conditions when planning your winter adventure.

Can I drive a campervan on a "normal" license?Yes! All our campervans are under the 3.5 tonnes weight limit which means you can drive the campervans on a regular category B license.

Is there a mileage limit on the campervan rentals?We offer unlimited mileage within the UK, so you can explore as much as you like without worrying about extra charges. For European trips, a fair mileage policy will apply - A maximum of 3,000 miles, however, for trips longer than 2 weeks, this can be increased by contacting us and any additional charges will be clearly explained during booking. We apply a charge of £0.40 per mile above 3,000 miles.

Can I bring pets on my trip?Yes, add pet cover when booking! Bring up to 2 well-behaved pets on the trip ensuring the campervan is cleaned thoroughly before drop-off. This is to ensure the next customers can enjoy a clean allergy free environment.

How long can the campervan remain off-grid?Our campervans can stay off-grid for up to a week, depending on battery usage and power consumption. They are fitted with solar panels and high-capacity batteries to support your off-grid adventures, allowing you to enjoy nature without needing frequent stops at campsites.

What is the minimum rental period for a campervan?The minimum rental period for our campervans is 2 nights. This allows you to fully enjoy your trip without feeling rushed. For longer adventures, we offer discounts on extended rentals.

How do I pay for my rental?We accept all major credit and debit cards for payment. A deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due 40 days before you pick up the campervan. Payment details and options will be clearly outlined during the booking process.

Can I extend my rental during the trip?If you’re having too much fun to head home, we understand! You can request an extension of your rental, subject to availability. Just contact us as soon as possible to make the necessary arrangements, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

In the UK, you can also stay in certain car parks, lay-bys, and on private land with permission. Be sure to check local regulations as wild camping is not permitted everywhere. How do I empty the cassette toilet?To empty the cassette toilet, remove the waste tank from its compartment, usually accessed from the outside of the campervan. Take it to a designated chemical waste disposal point at a campsite or service area. Open the spout, press the vent button, and carefully pour the waste into the disposal point. Rinse the tank with water before reinserting it into the campervan, ensuring you re-fill the toilet chemicals. How do I manage the campervan’s water supply?The campervan is equipped with a freshwater tank for drinking and washing. You can refill the tank at campsites, designated water points and some service stations. The waste water (grey water) tank collects used water from the sinks and shower, which should be emptied at appropriate disposal points.

What should I do if the campervan’s battery runs low?If the leisure battery runs low, you can recharge it by either driving the campervan or connecting to an electric hook-up at a campsite. It’s advisable to monitor your battery levels regularly to avoid running out of power, especially if you’re off-grid.

What are the best ways to conserve water while campervanning?To conserve water, take shorter showers, turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, and reuse water where possible, such as for rinsing dishes. Consider filling up your water tanks whenever possible to avoid running out.

What should I do in case of a breakdown?Our campervans undergo regular maintenance to ensure reliability. However, in the rare event of a breakdown, your rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance across the UK and Europe. Contact the number below and help will be on the way. What should I do in the event of an accident?In the event of a breakdown or accident, a recovery and repair service is provided for all our Motorhomes/Campervans (details inside vehicles). This is an extract from clause 12 of our standard rental agreement: Every accident or any damage or defect must be reported to Trekker Voyages Limited immediately by telephone 07411 589028. You are authorised to spend £100 on any necessary repairs and/or replacement parts, and we will reimburse you against a valid VAT receipt. Any repair above £100 will have to be authorised by Trekker Voyages. Any breakdown, malfunction or damage caused by your negligence must be repaired/made good at your own expense. An accident form may have to be completed at the end of the hire period. Do not accept liability in any circumstances. At Trekker Voyages, the safety and security of our customers and vehicles are our top priority. To ensure a smooth and stress-free experience, we have established the following guidelines to be followed in the event of an accident, theft, or damage involving our campervans. Reporting an Accident: 12.1 Immediate Action: In the event of an accident, you must: Ensure that everyone involved is safe and provide assistance if necessary. Contact emergency services if there are any injuries or if it is required by law. Safely move the campervan out of traffic, if possible, without putting yourself or others at risk. 12.2 Exchange Information: Collect the following information from all parties involved in the accident: Names, addresses, and contact details. Vehicle registration numbers and details of any other vehicles involved. Insurance details of all parties. Names and contact details of any witnesses. 12.3 Photographic Evidence: Take clear photographs of: The scene of the accident from multiple angles. Any damage to the campervan and other vehicles involved. Relevant road signs, traffic signals, and the overall environment. 12.4 Reporting to Trekker Voyages: Contact Trekker Voyages immediately after the accident at 0745 9334040. Provide a detailed account of the accident, including all collected information and photographs. Complete and return the Accident Report Form provided by Trekker Voyages. 12.5 Police Reporting: If the accident involves injury, damage to property, or a third party, you must report the incident to the police and obtain a Police Report or Incident Number. Provide Trekker Voyages with a copy of the Police Report as soon as possible. Reporting Theft: 12.6 Immediate Action: If the campervan is stolen, you must: Immediately contact the police to report the theft. Obtain a Police Crime Reference Number. 12.7 Reporting to Trekker Voyages: Notify Trekker Voyages as soon as possible at 07411 589028 after reporting the theft to the police. Provide Trekker Voyages with the Police Crime Reference Number and any details regarding the circumstances of the theft. 12.8 Cooperation: Fully cooperate with the police and Trekker Voyages in any investigation regarding the theft of the campervan. Reporting Damage: 12.9 Minor Damage: For any minor damage to the campervan (e.g., scratches, dents), report it to Trekker Voyages immediately. Provide photographs and a description of the damage. Minor damage must still be reported upon the return of the vehicle, even if it seems insignificant. 12.10 Significant Damage: If the damage impairs the campervan's drivability or safety, stop driving and contact Trekker Voyages immediately for further instructions. Significant damage may require the vehicle to be inspected or towed, which Trekker Voyages will arrange. 12.11 Vandalism: If the campervan is vandalised, report the incident to the police and obtain a Police Report or Incident Number. Notify Trekker Voyages immediately with details of the vandalism and the Police Report. Excess 12.12 Insurance Coverage: The hirer is responsible for understanding the terms of the insurance coverage provided and any excess that may apply in the event of an accident, theft, or damage. 12.13 Excess Payment: The hirer will be liable for the excess amount as specified in the rental agreement. This applies to all accidents, theft, and damage claims unless otherwise agreed upon. 12.14 Non-Insurable Damage: The hirer will be responsible for the full cost of any non-insurable damage, including but not limited to interior damage, loss of keys, or negligence.
